Lloyds and HBOS cybersquatting

Hahaha, this is what a nerd I am, I noticed that various combinations of Lloyds and HBOS Internet domain names have already been registered by various enterprising individuals. The guy at www.lloydsbos.co.uk has dedicated the site to his new "fish" called "Lloydsbos" – no doubt hoping to circumvent the authorities by claiming that it is purely coincidental that his fish just happens to have a very similar name to the giant banking merger that has just taken place.
I really don’t think this will work – I mean you can look up the domain names on Nominet and get their addresses – www.lloydshbos.co.uk is another one. Both domain names were registered yesterday, the day news of the merger broke.
Tom Beckett of Great Shefford, and Ray Blake of Arlesey, expect to receive some fairly stern legal letters from the Lloyds-HBOS legal team soon! 🙂
