Glow-worm grotto in Te Anau

After my bungy jump yesterday we drove from Queenstown to a place called Te Anau (click for route). This was to be our evening stopover for our trip up to Milford Sound the next day.
In the evening we went on a boat trip to a cave system that contained a colony of glow-worms. Part way through the caves we had to catch a small boat to the actual grotto but because they are affected by lights we weren’t allowed to take any photo’s or even talk. It was pitch black in there and it was quite eerie seeing the glow-worms all lit up. It was so dark it was almost like looking up at the night sky and seeing thousands of stars. They generated just enough combined light for me to see the edge of the boat but that was about all. All in all it was quite a cool experience.
